St. Thomas is an inclusive and affirming Christian faith community growing in grace as we live out the life of Christ in the beautiful city of Chilliwack. Our mission and vision are to be a diverse Christian family within the community, empowering people of all ages and stages to grow in their relationships with God and one another.

However you understand yourself, and however you describe yourself is fine with us!  Your background, race, gender, orientation, and spiritual journey are welcomed and celebrated here.

Guided by the Holy Spirit and the teachings of Jesus Christ, we share God's love with the world and throughout our daily lives.

Holy Eucharist every Sunday at 10:00 am

Healing Eucharist Fridays at 11:00 am

Both are followed with Coffee & tea.

There is much to celebrate in the Christian life; even in the midst of the challenges that arise. In community life we face both joys and sorrows together knowing that God, the Living Presence, is always present and active in our lives.

April

13                    Palm Sunday              10:00 am

                        A parade with palm fronds and making palm crosses at coffee time!

17                   Maundy Thursday    7:00 pm

                       Gathering as the first disciples for foot/hand washing and The Lord’s Supper. Followed with stripping the altar and lights going dark. The Cross is brought up.

18                   Good Friday              10:00 am

                        We remember Christ at his death and gather around the cross. “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”

19                    Holy Saturday                       11:00 am

                        A Meditative Labyrinth Walk at St. John’s Sardis (46098 Higginson Rd)  One hour to await, allow, accept, and attend. A joined  event with St. John’s as we wonder and walk together. Said Matins (Morning Prayer) is offered at St. John’s 10:30 – 11:00 am.

 20                   Easter Sunday! A Baptismal Service  Christ has risen! See Lorie if you or a family member would like to be baptized. A special treat for the kids (of all ages!) is being prepared.

  • YOUNG-ER ADULT BONFIRE! Friday, May 2 – an evening to gather at Cultus Lake!
  • LATRIA– NOTE DATE CHANGE: Wed. May 7.  A relaxed worship evening with communion. Music led by Danielle and Drew McTaggart and other musicians from Chilliwack. 
  • SPRING RETREAT at Loon Lake, Maple Ridge – Beauty Revives the Soul. May 9 – 11.  REGISTRATION is now OPEN on website! Scholarships available – just let Lorie know.
  • CONFIRMATION PREP DAY May 10th Diocesan Office 1410 Nanton Ave. Van. 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

“HE DESCENDED TO THE DEAD” Growing in Love Beyond Hellfire Faith.

Many Christians have experienced a faith forged in the fires of fear. But what will our faith look like when perfect love drives out fear? Join us for an evening of teaching that explores the biblical imagery used for divine judgment and how to read those texts through the lens of Jesus’ very good gospel. Dr. Bradley Jersak (Principal of St. Stephen’s University, NB) is the author of Her Gates Will Never Be Shut: Hope, Hell & the New Jerusalem and A More Christlike God: A More Beautiful Gospel.

  • LGBTQ+ Coffee & Conversation evening – June 3 at 7 pm. “The Helpers in my Life” Panelists include James Lam (actor) and Stacey Chomiak (author)
  • CONFIRMATION – The morning of June 14 at Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver. We have 5-6 people being confirmed from St. Thomas!
  • ST. THOMAS SPRING BBQ – after church on June 15. Food & games on the lawn!
  • ANGLICAN 101 Workshop – June 28 at 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Theme: The Via Media – The Middle Way. Bring your wonderings. Refreshments!
