Drum Circle a big hit!

Our first of three drum circle workshops at St Thomas was a great success! Each workshop centers on a theme such as community building, sounds and rhythms from nature, and Creator God and scripture, and includes rhythmical breathing, rhythms creation, unison, meditative sound scape, rhythm games, and unison drumming. 

The workshops are skillfully guided by Anya McRae, a professional pianist, teacher and harpist, and certified drum circle facilitator. Drums and percussions are provided.

Here's what one participant had to share about the experience:

This morning I joined my first drumming workshop with Anya, having graciously received a scholarship fee by donation.  Anya's workshop was nothing short of amazing! She is such a gifted teacher and facilitator. I found to my total surprise that not only I could easily follow, I was also able to completely synchronize with Anya… moments like in "dueling drums" provided the most powerful experience!
