Lorie is the Priest at St. Thomas Parish. She loves meeting people and being part of parish and community life. She accompanies people on the spiritual journey as priest, spiritual director, contemplative retreat leader, and is a Director and the Interparish coordinator of The Centre for Spiritual Renewal. Lorie is passionate about creating and experiencing sacred space and spiritual practice in solitude and community to deepen into the loving presence of God who offers hope and healing to our hearts and the world.
Some of her ‘favorite things’ are the labyrinth, Christian Celtic Spirituality, transformation using the Enneagram, grief work, inner healing, personal and communal contemplation and discernment, being recalled to our true Essence, and discovering and using our gifts and skills in loving service and teamwork in a community of faith and beyond.
Entering church life through a Sunday School bus-ministry as a child, Lorie has been part of a variety of Christian faith traditions, appreciates Interfaith connecting, and has found ‘home’ in the liturgy, sacraments, and the ethos & essence of the Anglican church. She is a graduate of the Vancouver School of Theology with a Master’s in Divinity; her favorite areas being spiritual theology, pastoral care, and church mission. Lorie is on the Board of Directors of The Contemplative Society (Cynthia Bourgeault) and she encourages the path of the wisdom teachers & traditions along with the Christian mystics.
Lorie lives in the little village of Lindell Beach at Cultus Lake near Chilliwack. She and her husband, Dwight, raised their five children, have experienced great joy and deep loss, and now have the splendid delight of grandkids! Lorie enjoys paddling her kayak, hiking, photography, sipping tea, lattes, or spirits with family & friends while making great memories together.
“I look forward to meeting you and being a part of all that is & is yet to be!”
